White Envelope

The defining idea is that even if the owner forgets their Access Code or becomes unavailable, the information can still be recovered — but only by a required quorum of Security Officers.

A White Envelope is a special type of Safe Box designed for storing critical, must-never-be-lost information.

The White Envelope has special capabilities, restrictions, and recovery workflows that make it different from normal Safe Boxes.

White Envelopes — Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Who can create a White Envelope?

Any authorized user within SecureAnyBox can create their own "White Envelope" digital vault.

Who can open a White Envelope?

Only designated officers—those pre-assigned to the envelope—can jointly authorize its opening. Depending on policy, this will require two or more officers.

No. White Envelopes are designed to prevent administrative override.

Does opening a White Envelope generate an audit record?

Yes. Every action related to a White Envelope—creation, Security Officer assignment, and access events is captured in SecureAnyBox’s as an audit record for compliance and traceability.

Can the required officers be changed after a White Envelope is created?

Yes. If the count of Security Officers is below the minimum, new officers must be set.
